He said, "There are many festivals. Today, festivals are taking place in every lane. But what people do is they put an LED and show the film. And there are 4-5 people. And those who give money get an award. Those who don't, they don't."

"Our main aim is that good people should come into the industry; good people should get jobs, because there is a group of 10-20 people in our industry who make films together, and the rest of the people are not even allowed to enter the office,” he added.

He is equally direct about the quality of what is actually being made at the top. He said, "Now, we have made Dhurandar. What is new in Dhurandar? Did you tell anything new? No, you didn't. You made the story of India and Pakistan, which is happening in politics. The story of Dhurandar is that there are bad people in Pakistan and good people in India. Politicians are also doing the same thing. What did you do in the name of entertainment? You didn't do anything." 

CineDreams International Film Festival operates on an entirely different philosophy. At the Bombay edition, Ayub introduced something personal. He named awards after twelve figures from Uttar Pradesh who shaped Indian cinema but have since faded from public memory: K. Asif, Naushad, Majrooh Sultanpuri, Vishal Bhardwaj, Rahul Ravel, and others whose work built the foundations that the industry now stands on without acknowledgement. At the Lucknow International Film Festival, held at Saharaganj's PVR INOX Cinema, those same honors were carried forward, with awards named after Director K. Alongside the festival, Ayub’s production company, CineDream Films LLP, is also making a Hindi film titled Shubh Sangam, with two actors and one actress playing a double role, and they will be given their break from Uttar Pradesh itself.

He is also clear about what recognition means for someone just starting out. He said, "When a person enters the industry, he has a passion. He has a different way of thinking. He wants to decide what he is thinking, right or wrong. When that thing goes in front of people, and those people have done big things in the industry, have a lot of experience, and know good and bad, then it will be decided whether you did right or wrong." 

Now he is looking beyond India. The Indian government's restrictions mean Pakistani and Chinese films cannot be screened domestically, and that gap in the program has bothered him. His solution is to extend the festival to Dubai, with additional screenings in Sharjah, and bring 20-25 selected participants from India along with him.

He said, "Pakistani films will also come there. China's will also come; Afghanistan's will also come. There is no hindrance in Dubai. When the films come, the technicians will come, the actors, and the writers will also come." 

But what he expects in return shows his commitment and dedication towards the industry. "If five people get work at my festival, I will feel that I did a good job. I can't guarantee everything, but if five people get work because of my festival, their lives will improve. So, as a human being, being in the industry, I did a good job,” Ayub ended.

He further mentioned that just as his company had successfully organized Lucknow International Film Festival on 14th and 15th April at Saharaganj PVR Cinema, this would become the company’s third major festival. He invited filmmakers and artists to submit their Feature Films, Short Films, Documentary Films, OTT Films, Music Albums, Ad Films, and Independent Singing Videos for the upcoming festival.

Q: Yojna, your journey from scientist to artist sounds unconventional. How did music happen?

Music was never a dramatic shift for me. Poetry came first. Writing has always been my most natural form of emotional expression. Even while working in science, technology, and healthcare innovation, I was constantly observing people, emotions, relationships, and identity.

Eventually, poetry alone no longer felt enough. I wanted emotions to travel through melody, not just words. That led me into songwriting, then composition, and gradually into music production as well, because I wanted creative ownership of the complete emotional experience. Over time, many of those reflections and observations started transforming into songs.

People often see science and art as completely different worlds. I see strong similarities between them. Both demand observation, depth, discipline, curiosity, and the ability to understand human experience at a deeper level.

Q: Your patriotic song “Man Jan Gan Man Gayega” is being called the first NRI anthem song. What inspired it?

Living outside India changes your relationship with patriotism. In many ways, distance makes your roots feel even deeper and more emotional.

“Man Jan Gan Man Gayega” was born from that feeling — the quiet yet powerful patriotism of NRIs who carry India within their memories, language, culture, and everyday identity, regardless of where they live in the world.

The audio version of the song was released on 26 January on my YouTube channel, “Writefully Yours with Yojna,” while the official music video is currently in post-production and is scheduled for a worldwide release on 15 August.

The project is supported by “Neha Couture” as the Cultural Ambassador and “Berlin Indiawale” as the Community Partner. The cinematography has been led by Ashutosh Bhandari and Shaishav Bhatt, with performances by more than 30 NRIs featured in the video.

At its core, the song carries one message: India is not just a place - it is an emotion that travels across borders and generations.

Q: Tell us about your album AKS – Reflections in Melody (2026).

AKS is deeply personal. The word itself means “reflection,” and the album explores different emotional mirrors of life — love, silence, longing, nostalgia, healing, and human connection.

So far, two songs from the album have been released — “Chain Ki Neend” and “Har Ek Lamha.”

Four more songs are scheduled to release soon.

Q: You are writing lyrics, composing, and producing your music yourself. What has been the biggest challenge?

The biggest challenge has probably been being taken seriously.

I come from a background in science, healthcare, and technology—not from the traditional film or music industry ecosystem. So when people see someone independently writing, composing, and producing their own music, there is often initial skepticism about depth, training, or artistic seriousness.

But I think the industry is changing. Audiences today respond less to labels and more to emotional honesty. If a song genuinely makes people feel something, they connect with it regardless of where the artist comes from.

Another challenge is resisting the pressure to create only what is commercially predictable or algorithm-friendly. I’m not interested in making interchangeable music designed purely for trends. Some of my work is deeply poetic & ghazal-inspired, some patriotic, and some is contemporary. What matters to me is that every song feels emotionally truthful and creatively intentional.

Q: What is your “secret sauce” behind managing such diverse creative and professional worlds?

Following your passion despite uncertainty, being willing to take risks, and staying consistent for years.

I no longer see my worlds as separate. The scientist in me brings structure, the entrepreneur brings resilience, and the artist brings emotion. They all feed each other.

People often see the outcome, not the years of learning, experimenting, failing, and continuing anyway. Consistency matters far more than people think.

The event featured awards honouring some of the country’s most impactful creator voices, alongside a documentary screening and curated brand experiences across fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and culture.

New Delhi [India], April 06 : For Anushri, editing has never been tied to one place. Her journey, from Dubai to Mumbai to Los Angeles — has gradually shaped a practice that moves across languages, genres, and different corners of the film industry. 

Having edited films in Hindi, English, Mandarin, and Spanish, Anushri Srinivasan Iyer approaches storytelling with a simple belief: emotion doesn’t belong to one language, and the best films don’t need translation to be felt. 

Anushri’s journey into editing didn’t begin in a film school or on a professional set, but in a classroom in Dubai, where she first opened Adobe Premiere Pro as a high school student. What started as curiosity quickly turned into instinct. That instinct was affirmed early on when she was placed second amongst approximately 45,000 entries in the international CBSE Adobe Creativity Challenge celebrating 150-years of Mahatma Gandhi. She was invited to the Adobe Headquarters in Delhi, and was felicitated by Mr. Shantanu Narayen, The Chairman/CEO of Adobe Inc USA- A moment that marked the beginning of something much bigger. 

While doing her undergraduate studies at Whistling Woods International, Film City Mumbai, her relationship with storytelling began to take shape — not just technically, but creatively and personally. During this time, she directed and edited the short film Radhika, which went on to win multiple awards, including Best Amateur Film at the Sun of the East International Film Festival, The Goa International film festival and Tagore International Film Festival. Anushri’s work gained recognition with the short film Vijaya Dashami, which was selected among the top 100 short films at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival, Mumbai. Anushri was the Head of the Whistling Woods Earth Charter, where she organized initiatives focused on environmental awareness and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. 

It was her move to Los Angeles that marked a turning point. At the American Film Institute Conservatory, where she completed her Masters Degree in Film Editing, Anushri Iyer found herself in an environment that pushed her to refine both her

craft and her voice. Working across a wide range of genres — including comedy, thriller, animation, and horror — she began to understand just how much power an editor holds. 

Her thesis film HIM, screened at the AFI FEST 2025 at the Chinese theater in Hollywood, became a particularly defining project. Anushri’s thesis film ‘HIM’ was selected across various film schools to receive an Amazon Studios AI Grant. Through the grant she explored the various uses of AI in filmmaking. The process changed the way she approached editing, allowing her to better understand the inner lives of characters and guiding her to make choices that felt more deliberate and more intuitive to the story itself. During her time at AFI, she also edited ‘Spectre’ and ‘When the cold wind blows’ which premiered at the Singapore Int Film Festival 2025 and Beyond Fest 2025 Los Angeles 2025. She also volunteered at the SMPTE MTS 2024 and ACE Eddie Awards 2025 and 2026.

Her work extends across both traditional and digital platforms. As a freelance Assistant Editor for Jubilee Media, she contributed to widely viewed digital content, while continuing to edit independent narrative films in Los Angeles. She also served as an Additional Editor on the feature film Where the Wind Blows, which had a theatrical release and is now available on Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video. 

Anushri Srinivasan Iyer is an Avid certified professional and is currently working as a Post-Production Assistant at Sony Pictures for a show to be released in 2026 on Apple TV, while also serving as an Assistant Editor on two upcoming feature films set for release — continuing to build a career that moves fluidly between independent and studio spaces.

During a high-level consultation chaired by Hon’ble Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal with Export Promotion Councils and industry bodies, a strategic proposal was formally placed to review India’s copyright framework — including extending the current 60-year protection period for cinematograph films and sound recordings to align with global standards ranging between 70 to 95 years.

Representing the entire entertainment sector in his capacity as Council of Administration (COA) Member of the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC), Mr. Narendra Hirawat, Chairman, NH Studioz, presented the industry’s consolidated position on strengthening intellectual property as a long-term export asset.

The consultation focused on leveraging intellectual property-led industries as key drivers of India’s services exports under the new trade frameworks.

Hirawat emphasised that in the digital era, films and content libraries are enduring assets that generate recurring foreign exchange through streaming, licensing, remakes and archival monetisation across decades. He noted that India’s current copyright protection of 60 years from publication is lower than major global markets such as:

• European Union – 70 years

• United Kingdom – 70 years

• United States – 95 years (for corporate works)

Extending the term, he stated, would:

• Improve long-term valuation of Indian content libraries
• Enhance investor confidence
• Strengthen financing potential against content assets

“As global trade agreements expand international opportunities for Indian storytelling, aligning our copyright framework with leading markets will reinforce India’s position as a long-term exporter of creative capital,” said Narendra Hirawat.

By blending personal storytelling with generative technology, he has created two projects that have no prior global equivalent, both completed within the span of a single year.

The first achievement is the world’s first fully AI-generated music video where both the song and the visuals were produced using prompt engineering. Titled Daddy, the project began with lyrics Jake wrote himself, inspired by personal memories. He then used AI tools to generate the musical composition and build the entire visual narrative through text-based prompts. Each frame was crafted through written instructions and assembled into a cohesive story, demonstrating a new way of creating music videos without traditional production infrastructure.

The India Book of Records has formally recognised him as an IBR Achiever for this feat, noting the uniqueness of Daddy as the first music video created using this method.

Building on this, Jake created another global first: the world’s first Human AI collaborative patriotic music album with complete AI-generated music videos for every track. The five-track album, titled Azaadi, explores themes of identity, belonging and contemporary patriotism. New Delhi [India], November 22: The 2^nd edition of the annual Cinematica Expo concluded on 17^th November, 2024 after an eventful two days at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), Hyderabad, Telangana. The prestigious event was held in association with and as part of IndiaJoy and was supported by the Government of Telangana, Telangana VFX, Animation and Gaming Association (TVAGA) and Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India. On 16^th November, Cinematica Expo 2024 was kickstarted with a formal inauguration by the legendary filmmaker Mr. Ram Gopal Varma and fiery director Mr Sandeep Raddy Vanga. The Secretary, MeitY, Govt. of India Mr. S. Krishnan, Special Chief Secretary, IT and Industries & Commerce, Govt. of Telangana Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, Acclaimed cinematographer Mr K. K. Senthil Kumar and the Cinematica Expo founder and noted cinematographer Mr. P. G. Vinda were also present at the inaugural.

The two-day event witnessed the participation of who’s who of Indian cinema starting from the legendary to the debutant filmmakers who mesmerised the audiences with compelling stories and innovative adaptation of technology to tell those stories. Celebrated film director Mr. Indraganti Mohana Krishna shed light for the audience on the theme of ‘Adapting Literature into Screenplays: Challenges and Opportunities’. Raghu moderated the discussion on the topic ‘The Evolving Eye of Cinematography’ with young and promising cinematographers including Mr. Shivendra Dhasharathi, and Mr. Nagesh Banell.

Mr. Jagdeesh Bommisetti enriched the knowledge of aspiring filmmakers on the topic of ‘Virtual Production: On-Set Scenarios’. The session provided a glimpse into the future of production design with emphasis on virtual production. Renowned screenwriter Mr. Satyanshu Singh took a Masterclass ‘Writing the Right Way’ and equipped the aspiring writers with tools to master the art of screenwriting. ‘Visual Storytellers’, a souvenir book meticulously curated as a tribute to the maestros of Indian cinematography, was presented to various trailblazing cinematographers, pathbreaking directors and other celebrity artists and technicians cutting across 24 crafts of filmmaking who attended the Cinematica Expo.  Sanjeev Tiwary is one actor who always believes in giving his best and the length of the roles doesn’t bother him much. Recently, Sanjeev Tiwary got the opportunity to do a very small part in Netflix’s immensely popular series ‘Tribhuvan Mishra CA Topper’ which he  agreed to do as he knew that despite the short length, his part would be noticed and it would be eventually talked about. Sanjeev Tiwary played a small role role named Abdul in the series and left his mark as an actor.

But few know about this very talented actor’s eventful journey. He is the winner of the first acting based reality show ‘Superstar’ which was telecasted on DD Metro two decades back. As a winner he was promised a leading role in a budget Bollywood movie titled ‘Ishq Vishq’ and the promise was made in front of the directors like Hansal Mehta and Milan Luthria who were among the judges of this acting based reality show. It is the same year when actors like Vineet Kumar Singh and Siddharth Jadhav also participated in the show, Sanjeev Tiwary was declared as the winner of the show.

But even after the fiasco, Sanjeev Tiwary didn’t lose heart and kept trying his luck at the movies. Meanwhile, he kept honing his skills and  joined the theatre circuit and started acting in various plays. For more than 20 years, he worked with theatre stalwarts like Pandit Satyadev Dubey, Sagar Sarhadi and Piyush Mishra. Then, he got another prominent part in the comedy film titled ‘Mera Kya Hoga Lambodar’ which also had Pavan Malhotra in a pivotal role but this time the film couldn’t get completed and once again Sanjeev Tiwary was left stranded with his Bollywood dreams.

In such a scenario, he kept going and worked in many TV shows like ‘CID’, ‘Aahat’, ‘Kagaar’, ‘Haqdaar’ etc in which his work was appreciated. Reminiscing the lost opportunities of showcasing his talent through Bollywood films in the last two decades or so, Sanjeev Tiwary says, “For me things would have been different if after winning the reality show ‘Superstar’ the promise to cast me in a film would have been kept. Later, when my film ‘Chausar’ didn’t get  released, I was heartbroken once again. The lost opportunities in Bollywood cost me so much in life. But I kept going and did theatre and TV to survive and feed my family”.

Today, due to the lack of acting opportunities in Bollywood films, Sanjeev Tiwary, along with his wife, translates English series into Hindi and is also known as a excellent dubbing artist. Bur Sanjeev Tiwary has not given up on his Bollywood dreams. He says, “I am sure a lot of people must have noticed me in ‘Tribhuvan Mishra CA Topper’ and I am also sure that sooner or later people are going to recognise my acting abilities. By age 18, the young model was shooting for several international brands at exotic locations. So what was the problem?

“I had no idea of the repercussions of starting a career so early,” she says, “I’m 18, suddenly have thousands of fans and followers — the reaction was positive. It can only get better from here, right?” 

After the hit video, an influx of calls from film production houses overwhelmed the teen, and along with it, terrifying tales of casting couch experiences.

“My mom would come with me everywhere. She was as clueless as I was. My dad, who worked in finance, had misgivings about life in the media. But we were not prepared for how blatant the requests for ‘compromise’ were. Men in their 40s and 50s would touch my mom’s feet, tell her that I am like their daughter too, and then take me into the audition room — with the door open so mom could see me — and would whisper to me that I had to ‘compromise’ and ‘be in a relationship with them’ in order to further my acting career. I always said no thanks, and left quietly, not telling mom about it until we got home. I stuck to modelling rather than acting, which was far cleaner. It was a different time back then, before the #MeToo movement.”

Before Instagram and the age of influencers, models weren’t as famous as actresses and obviously wouldn’t make as much money as they otherwise would in films. Not that Nina was even trained to be an actress or could even speak Hindi properly— but as long as she would ‘compromise’ that would not be a problem. She was asked to get breast enhancement surgery, a nose job, lip fillers, which she flatly refused to do, and she credits this to her parents. 

“I’m so so lucky. I saw so many young girls who couldn’t afford to eat or pay their rent, because they went to Mumbai against their parents’ wishes, and they didn’t have the kind of support I did to just walk away from projects.”

Then, the fan experiences turned sour. People would get her private number and even her address. Harassment, stalking, and rape threats ensued. An especially terrifying incident occurred while shooting as an anchor for a prominent English TV channel; Two men arrived on set demanding to take her with them immediately. Thankfully, the employees at the TV channel hid her in a room for nearly two hours and said she was not on the premises.

“The wonderful producer came over and told me he was going to lock the green room door from the outside and turn off the power supply in an attempt to hide my presence. The men said ‘their boss’ from another state was a big fan and asked them to bring me to him immediately. My Co-anchor and I stayed quiet until they left, and we snuck out through the back a few hours later.”

All these events traumatised Nina, and she began to hide herself away. After an extensive discussion with her family, who were equally disturbed, they decided she would leave Mumbai for good. It was not worth it.

As years passed, fans would ponder online about the girl from their favourite video, asking why they couldn’t even find her name online. Nina, however, was on a journey to build her career as a writer and businesswoman — a profession she had long envisioned for herself.

“I have such a fantastic career, I run my own company, and I have never been as happy as I am now. I don’t have the pressure to always be size zero, I don’t get judged for the food I eat, the clothes I wear, and am not constantly monitored by people I barely know. I have had many positive experiences in my acting career that I’ll always cherish, but the negative experiences were far more frequent.”

On being asked about why she no longer ‘hides’ herself, she says,

“Times have changed and things are much better for women now. I am older and wiser at 35, and I started opening up when I realised that it was making a positive difference in the lives of young girls. Messages from young women who identify with my choice to speak openly about mental health and wellness, to denounce body-shamers, and to live on my own terms – That has been my main inspiration to gradually maintain a minimal online presence.”
